JUST COMPLETED EVENT: Mike Block, alt-cellist extraordinaire, was in town on December 7, at the Beachland Ballroom. Hailed by Yo-Yo Ma as the “ideal musician of the 21st Century”, Mike
Block is a pioneering multi-genre cellist, composer, and educator living
in New York City, a CIM alumnus, and a past winner of a CCS scholarship competition! Along with this solo performance, he also played Chinese music with a group at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and held an "Improvising with Others" workshop at the Music Settlement.
