The instrument has a medium grained, two-piece spruce top, a two piece maple back with irregular flames descending from the center join, and matching maple ribs and scroll.  The varnish is brown over a gold ground. The instrument has an identifying label inside the bass f-hole which reads:

Measurements (mm): Length of back 733, upper bout 335, middle bout 226, lower bout 420.  It has had a new fingerboard, new bridge, carbon-fiber tailpiece, soundpost, carbon fiber endpin and brand-new Hill-style pegs along with a lovely French polish.  

Appraised in 2013 for $16,500.
