February 5, Sunday, 2-4 pm: i Cellisti! - featuring Pizzicato 4
Our very popular annual
cello ensemble extravaganza expands this season to include a silent auction immediately
after the concert. Pizzicato 4, a
cello quartet comprised of CCS members Nick Diodore, Heidi Albert, Ida Mercer,
and Derek Snyder,
will delight with a blend of contemporary sounds, from tangos to jazz to rock –
as well as a spicy blend of classics.
Pizzicato 4 will be joined by a collection of Cleveland’s best young
cellists for a grand finale cello choir that will be sure to enthrall. And the silent auction will be like no other,
featuring jewelry, woodworking, artwork, and a variety of handcrafts, all made
by CCS members and friends. Experiences
and opportunities also will be auctioned: cello lessons, an afternoon of cello
duets performed at a time and place of your choosing, a behind-the-scenes tour
of a string repair and luthier shop,
to list a few. Listen to a great concert of cello ensemble music, and then
support a great cause: proceeds from ticket and auction sales provide the funds
for the CCS Scholarships! Venue: The
Music Settlement, 11125 Magnolia Drive (in University Circle), Cleveland. Tickets:
$10 suggested donation at the door, or consider becoming a $100 i
